Greengate Trust are pleased to announce our upcoming event in January 2025 with a celebration of comedy and Nasheeds. Performances will take place by artists throughout the night, an excuse to get the whole family together and enjoy world-class talent, in your hometown.

Abdullah Afzal

Abdullah is an actor and comedian from Manchester, England. Best known for his roles in the sitcoms Lunch Monkeys, playing Asif Khan which featured on BBC Three, and BBC One's Citizen Khan, playing Amjad Malik.

Salman Malik

Salman has gained much recognition over the years through his experiences on TV, radio, and live events. As a TV presenter, Salman has worked for some of the more prominent names in the Asian media industry, such as Sahara one, Brit Asia TV, Venus TV, and Apex TV. He has interviewed some of the world’s biggest music artists, politicians and personalities including Jay Sean, Imran Khan, and other Bollywood Stars.

Abdullah Haqani

Known best as Brother Abdullah is, an award-winning Nasheed artist who created a fusion of Nasheeds and sufi music with his own contemporary touch. He’s also a TV host and presenter who invented one of the most watched Islamic shows, Nasheeds Unplugged. He is a renowned Islamic rapper, having travelled across the world, performing and training aspiring artists.

Adam Anwar

Adam burst onto the comedy scene in 2018, winning Manchester’s Beat the Frog competition for his first performance. He has since been awarded Leicester Comedy Festival Circuit Breaker 2022 and labelled “Bolton’s next big thing” by the Bolton News.

Hasan Al Habib

Hasan started stand-up at Uni and is already regarded as one of the circuit’s most exciting new comedians. In 2019, Hasan took his stand up show “FootDarks” (the Cambridge Footlights whose names you can’t pronounce) to the Edinburgh fringe. It was critically acclaimed, with The Guardian newspaper calling it “deliciously funny”. He has since performed at sold out nights around the country, and has opened for various comedians, including Ken Cheng, Fern Brady, Ahir Shah, Adam Hess and Sara Barron.

There will be refreshments available to buy at each show. Venues will not allow people to bring in their own food.

Doors open at 6pm, last entry is 7pm

Tickets will be sent out via email from Eventbrite. Please bring your ticket email with you to show at the door.

The event will start at 7pm and finish at 9:45pm

Everyone is welcome, but the event will be segregated

We don't offer a children's ticket, anyone who is going to occupy a seat will need a ticket. Any children who don't need a seat won't need a ticket.

The seats are first come/first serve

The venues have accessible entrances and seating. Should you require such assistance, please let us know via email - [email protected]

Event will have photography, if you would prefer not to be filmed, please make a member of staff aware on the day.

Paid parking close by and further information is available on the venue websites.
