Why Choose Solar Power?

Our Solar Water Well Project aims to provide clean and reliable water access to over 500 beneficiaries in Pakistan. By installing a solar-powered water well to support Masjids across Pakistan, we are not only addressing a critical need but also promoting a sustainable and eco-friendly solution.

Harnessing the abundant energy of the sun, our solar-powered water well operates without the need for electricity or fuel. This means lower operational costs and reduced environmental impact. With a continuous and reliable water supply, even in remote areas, we are empowering communities with a sustainable source of clean water.

Make a Lasting Impact Today

Your support can make a world of difference in the lives of those who lack access to clean water. By donating to our Solar Water Well Project, you are not only providing a basic necessity but also empowering communities and promoting sustainability. Join us in this noble cause and be a part of something truly remarkable. Together, we can bring clean water, hope, and a brighter future to Pakistan. Donate now and become a catalyst for change!

All donors will be contacted within 7 days of the donation being made, to further explain the process and give timescales that we are currently operating.

Once finished, you will receive a feedback report with further information on your solar well including a location pin, images and a video.

Within the first 12 months our team in Pakistan will visit each well and complete a monitoring and evaluation report.

We check to ensure the well is working correctly and carry out any maintenance work that may be needed. The cost of this process is included within your donation, so you don’t pay anything extra.

You will receive an email confirmation (please check your junk folder), our team will then start the process, once completed you will receive a feedback report with further details and images.

The team have increased build capacity and if you donate by December 2025, you will receive your feedback within Ramadan 2025.

After this, the usual timeframe will resume, with us aiming to complete all wells within 6 months of your donation, however at certain times of the year it may be completed sooner or take a little longer. We work closely with the team on the ground to make the process as quick as possible.

The common depth of our wells is a minimum of 300 feet, depending on when we reach clean water.

Although it is impossible to give an exact lifespan, our wells will average 15 years minimum.

Our team in Pakistan perform annual monitoring and evaluation visits on every well and should any maintenance work be needed, we will cover the cost.

Once finished, you will receive a feedback report with further information on your solar well including a location pin, images and a video.

We ask donors to allow our field team to make this decision, as they are aware of where the most need is at the time of the donation.

Ideally, way say or one or two full names, along with a short message such as "In Memory of". Although there are no restrictions on how much text can be put on the plaque, this will affect readability and result in the font size being smaller than the images you may have seen on our website and social media. Please note we are unable to accommodate images, symbols, any other language than English, or anything that may be deemed offensive.

If no name for a water well is given in the ‘notes section’ when donating, Greengate Trust will set the plaque to the name the donation was made in.

‘The Messenger of Allah (saw) was asked, “Which charity is best?” He (saw) replied, “(Providing) water”’.
