Donate a Hand Pump Water Well in Pakistan, where communities are facing severe shortages of clean water.
Build a Hand Pump Water Well today in your name, or that of a loved one, and uplift impoverished communities throughout Pakistan.
We’re setting up Hand Pump Water Wells throughout Pakistan’s most impoverished communities to put an end to this water crisis and will save lives and regenerate whole communities for generations to come ensuring that no individual has to go without safe water to drink and for everyday needs.
We can place a plaque in your name on the well, and we will send you a report with key information about your well including where it is built and who is benefiting. If no name for a water well is given in the ‘notes’ of the donation, Greengate Trust will keep the plaque ‘anonymous.’
Every moment is a precious opportunity to make a difference within the lives of those who need it most. Seize the moment today for the most vulnerable in Pakistan and help someone in need.
Give A Beautiful Sadaqah Jariyah
The Prophet (PBUH) described providing drinking water as the best charity. A well is a Sadaqah Jariyah; when you provide a water well to a vulnerable community, you reap the rewards for years to come, as the well continues to provide clean water year after year.
‘The Messenger of Allah (saw) was asked, “Which charity is best?” He (saw) replied, “(Providing) water”’. (Abu Dawud)
Every 12 months our team in Pakistan will visit each well and complete a monitoring and evaluation report.
We check to ensure the well is working correctly and carry out any maintenance work that may be needed. The cost of this process is included within your donation, so you don’t pay anything extra.
A TRULY REWARDING SADAQAH JAARIYAH
ALL DONORS WILL ALSO RECEIVE THEIR OWN INDIVIDUAL WELL-COMPLETION REPORT VIA EMAIL

Water is the key to all life. Yet in Pakistan, 21 million people lack access to clean water, and as a result, 40% of all deaths in Pakistan each year are caused by unsafe, dirty water. Providing clean water is a beautiful act of Sadaqah Jariyah, as every drop helps to save and transform lives across generations for years to come.

You will receive an email confirmation (please check your junk), our team will then start the process, once completed you will receive a feedback report with further details and images.
We aim to complete all wells within 9 months of your donation, however at certain times of the year it may be completed sooner or take a little longer. We work closely with the team on the ground to make the process as quick as possible.
We send out a feedback report for each well which contains some general information on the well, some images of the well being built, some images of the well in use and some details of the location, should you wish to visit.
Although there are no restrictions on how many names are required on the well plaque. This just results in the font size being smaller than usual. Ideally, way say or one/two names along with a short message. We will always contact you if we feel the amount of text you have asked for is too much.
Please note, videos are not included as standard. The build team always try their best to capture a video of each well, but due to time restraints is not always possible. If a video of your well has been captured, it will be sent to you after you have received the feedback report, this being the priority.
Unfortunately, we are not able to give regular updates on progress, due to the admin time it would take and wanting to keep costs as low as possible, to continue to be a 100% donation charity. After the initial communication, the next communication you will receive is the feedback report, by email.
On the authority of Sa‘d bin ’Ubadah that he said,‘O Messenger of Allah! Umm (mother of) Sa‘d has died, so which charity is best?’
He (saw) replied, ‘[Providing] water’.
He (ra) said, ‘So [Sa’d] dug a well and said, “This (well) is for Umm Sa‘d”’. [Abu Dawud]
