I am raising funds to build a life-saving water pump in honour of my late brother, Shamile Nahar, and to support malnourished children in Yemen, whose suffering is among the most severe humanitarian crises in the world today.
Every day, children in Yemen face unimaginable hardship. Many are weakened by hunger, their small bodies battling severe malnutrition, while clean drinking water remains out of reach. Children walk miles under extreme heat just to find unsafe water, and far too many go to sleep hungry, thirsty, and forgotten. No child should have to endure such pain simply to survive.
Allah reminds us in the Qur’an:
“And We made from water every living thing.”
(Surah Al-Anbiyāʾ 21:30)
Yet for countless families in Yemen, this gift of life is painfully scarce.
This fundraiser is deeply personal to me. By building a water pump and providing nourishment through this appeal, I hope to create a source of sadaqah jāriyah — continuous charity — in my brother’s name. A well that quenches thirst, sustains life, and brings relief long after we are gone.
As a dedicated supporter of Greengate Trust, I am honoured to launch this appeal in support of their life-saving work. Their commitment to alleviating poverty, providing essential resources, and restoring dignity to vulnerable communities across the globe resonates deeply with me. Through Greengate Trust, your generosity reaches those who need it most — children whose lives hang in the balance.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“The best among you are those who bring the greatest benefit to others.”
This effort is my way of turning loss into lasting good — of transforming grief into mercy. It is not just about donating; it is about saving lives, about giving children the chance to grow, to heal, and to hope.
Every contribution, no matter how small, can help bring clean water, nourishment, and relief to those suffering the most. May Allah accept this effort, place barakah in every donation, and make it a source of light and reward.
